Malala fund
The key initiative (Gulmakai Network) supports education in developing countries, particularly those targeted towards girls’ secondary education around the world. In order to raise money for their work, the Malala Fund has a way to contact them and get started on fundraisers specifically branded towards their cause. Some examples of fundraisers include a drama club donating a portion of ticket sales from their production, people raising money on their birthdays, people running marathons, bake sales, and writing groups dedicating their month to composing novels to benefit the Malala Fund. In order to raise awareness, you can host a screening of her documentary film called “He Named Me Malala”. Money raised through these fundraisers are invested in local educators and advocates who educate girls in their local communities, while also providing money for educational materials.
Broadway Youth Resource Centre (BYRC)
The BRYC is a yoth centre that provides a range of social, health, educational, employment and life skills service to youth. It has been operational since 1999 and consists of housing units of which a portion of them are reserved for youth most vulnerable to homelessness: aboriginal youth, LGBTQ youth, and youth leaving foster care. Currently, they are looking for donations to buy food. A $40 donation buys 10 people snacks. People volunteering at the BYRC help raise funds by holding carwash fundraisers.
